Zamárdi is a popular holiday resort on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, known for having one of the lake’s largest free public beaches stretching for several kilometres. The Kőröshegy Lavender Field turns the hills purple between June and July. On the eight hectare field visitors can pick lavender by hand, and a craft market plus local wine tastings complete the experience. It is an ideal programme for couples and families alike, only ten minutes by car or twenty five minutes of easy cycling from Platán Garden & Rooms. It can be combined with the Lavender Weeks period, when several themed events and photo sessions take place at different locations around the area.
Zamárdi is part of the Balatonboglár wine region. Wine tastings and panoramic terraces await you at the Konyári Winery, Garamvári Winery, and Pócz Winery. The summer Wine & Gastronomy Picnic is a celebration of local flavours and wines.
